Passage to Remember
New Internation Version (NIV)
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
-2 Corinthians 5:14-15
The Message:
Through the cross, a crown.

A Message from the Pastor
Dear friend,
Life can be hectic and full of problems with our bodies, minds, relationships, as well as with our souls.
The cause of all our problems is sin—our sin as well as the sins of others. If you have felt this sting of sin, I have some wonderful news I’d like to share with you.
Your God is aware of your problem, and he has done something about it! He sent his Son Jesus to be the cure for sin.
By Jesus’ perfect life, by his death on the cross, and by his rising from the dead, God has given us the solution to sin. Even more, God has promised us the crown of eternal life. We have summarized this message as we proclaim, “Through the cross, a crown!”
While our lives on this earth will always be lived under a cross, in the end we will receive a crown that will never perish, spoil or fade.
I invite you and your family to join our Ascension family, where everything we do centers around this wonderful news. We believe God has put us here to connect you to God’s Word, God’s people and God’s work. I hope to meet you soon.
-Pastor Aaron Glaeske
The Message:
The message we confess and proclaim at Ascension is not uniquely ours; it’s God’s message for the world. He wants all people to be certain of where they stand with him. Apart from his Son Jesus, God has declared that all people are sinful and that no one does what is right in his sight. Therefore, we all fall under God’s anger and his curse.
The amazing news, however, is that in spite of our sin and our inability to save ourselves from God’s curse, God still loves us and has shown us that love by sending his Son Jesus to rescue us all from our sins and from God’s curse. This is why Jesus had to die on the cross. God was pleased with Jesus’ sacrifice and accepted it in payment for the sins of everyone in the world. He showed this to us by raising Jesus from the dead and has promised that at the last day he will raise all the dead and give the crown of life to all who trust in Jesus for their salvation.
Our crown logo reminds us that Jesus, our King, has ascended to rule all things for our good and so, he will come again to give us the crown of life he has won for us and promised to us. This then is our message: Through the cross, a crown!
